Depression creates a feeling of having no energy and causes a chain reaction into anxiety. Though the both are widely studied, there is not very long list of available treatments for depression and anxiety attacks.
There are no specialists in the area of depression however most experts agree that depression is fundamentally related to a break down in the brain chemistry. The anxiety that accompanies depression and the need to find treatments for depression and anxiety go hand in hand; one is directly affected by the other in a cause and effect relationship. An anxiety attack of this stature cannot be compared to feeling anxious about an upcoming flight you are taking, or anxiety you feel when going to a new job on your first day.
The anxiety that presents itself is a feeling of fear with no clear explanation. It is suggested that the brain flips into the fight or flight mode even when there is no clear and present danger. This causes a chronic state of feeling fear and this feeling never goes away. This can lead to serious harm to the individual or to those around them because some people experience this like a seizure and will flail about violently and cause harm.
The treatments for depression and anxiety attacks begin with medication. The most frequent method of medication is a category of drugs called benzodiazepines. The most common names of these are Xanax, Ativan and Klonopin and are quite successful to some degree in the success of treatments for depression and anxiety.
Often the depression is first addressed because it is associated with depressive disorders and once the depression has been conquered, the anxiety disorder seems to follow suit and show no further symptoms. In this group of medications, one should mention the alternative medications such as herbs and alternative nutrients. An herb called Kava can be helpful in treatments for depression and anxiety disorders.
Other treatments for depression and anxiety attacks are exercise and meditation. These are priceless tools in the treatments. Both of these are completely free of side affects and are a great source of releasing negative energy that tends to become locked inside an individual suffering from these disorders. Cognitive behavioral therapy is also a helpful treatment for depression and anxiety and teaches an individual how to deal with the body producing these negative and inferior feelings.
